Hello I am Sutherlyn Banker

I am a freshman at Indiana University. I love to scrapbook and work out when I have free time in my day. Right now I am watching Grey's Anatomy.
On top of this, I am a very outgoing person. I am always the loudest in the room and I can talk to anyone. I am very creative and I never like to sit still I love trying new things and doing things that make me uncomfortable. I am a hard-working, caring individual who is pushed to always do better due to the standards I set for myself.

I was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana. Living there has allowed me to create many lasting friendships. Many of those friendships came from my high school volleyball team. Being a part of that team taught me many things, such as teamwork, discipline, friendship, and hardship.

This was on March 4th when we went to the local park and released balloons for him.
Experiences

Something that has shaped me into the person I am today is last year my friend passed away in a car crash. After this happened I lost a piece of myself that day but it also changed who I was for the better. After that, I started living life more and not being scared to do things because life is short. This experience made me be grateful for everything I get to do in this world.

On top of that, I feel a lot of my inspiration comes from my family. All of them are people I look up to and want to respect. They push me the hardest and make me who I am today. My parents just always stayed on top of me and checking in has helped me so much. They care and they push me to my limits. I can remember all those late nights when they would stay up and study with me no matter what they had to do the next day. I work hard for them.

Why I choose IU

I chose IU because this is my home. I cannot even remember when I first started coming down for the football games. My dad went here and will never leave he loves it and is what influenced me so much. Then my brother who is a senior here now decided he wanted to go. Knew it would be me next and it was and I have never looked back.
I love the campus it is amazing. Especially in the fall was probably one of the prettiest things I have seen in my life. IU just always feels like home to me and is such a big part of why I picked going here. It just feels right to me.
